Would you like to make most of the great outdoors? Learn how to use a map and compass so that you can navigate walks in the countryside.
This practical course includes walks around Wentworth Castle estate as well as exploring public footpaths in the area.
This is a foundation course for those returning to learning who wish to explore what Northern College has to offer.
This course will help you to develop your confidence in navigation, or progress on to leading group walks with a voluntary or community organisation.
How will the course be delivered?
The course will be delivered on a residential basis, over two days and one night.The course will include a blend of classroom based activities and some individual work alone.
Northern College starts where you are, building on your life skills and experience. You don’t need a formal qualification to begin your studies with us.
The course was excellent, it has helped me reconnect with my love of walking, and as a result of coming on the course I plan to get back to hiking and walking both in a group and on my own.
