The Functional Skills qualifications are based around skills needed for everyday life and to enable students to have the flexibility to problem solve using these skills. On this course, you will learn Reading, Writing and Speaking & Listening skills at the standards for Entry Level 3. The skills at this levels form a platform for learners to develop to Level 1 skills in English.
How will this course be delivered?
There will be four sessions of two days each on a Wednesday and Thursday.
As part of the application process, you will be required to complete an English diagnostic assessment. This will ensure we offer you the right level of course, helping you to achieve.
What could this course lead to?
This course gives you the foundation to move onto Level 1 Functional Skills English. You could first of all access some of our Essential Skills courses at Level 1 to support you in getting ready for a Level 1 Functional Skills course.
Funding Support Statement:
Functional skills and GCSE qualifications in English and Maths are free to anyone who doesn’t already have either a grade 4, or a Level 2, in the specific subject. This means, if you’re aged 19 or over, the government will fund your English and Maths studies until you achieve either of these grades whether you are in work or not.Need more Information?
