The Functional Skills qualifications are based around skills needed for everyday life and to enable students to have the flexibility to problem solve using these skills. On this course, you will learn Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening skills at the standards for Level 2 . The skills at this level form a platform for learners to develop skills for further academic study at Level 3 and above, and are also skills valued by employers.
This intensive model is run over five consecutive days.
As part of the application process, you will be required to complete an English assessment. This will ensure we offer you the right level of course, helping you to achieve.

What could this course lead to?
Functional Skills qualifications at Level 2 may be required to access Level 3 programmes of study, and are now often accepted at universities to access Higher Education qualifications.
Funding Support Statement:
Functional skills and GCSE qualifications in English and Maths are free to anyone who doesn’t already have either a grade 4 (C), or a Level 2, in the specific subject. This means, if you’re aged 19 or over, the government will fund your English and Maths studies until you achieve either of these grades whether you are in work or not.Need more Information?
