This course explores how becoming active in your community can enhance your wellbeing, confidence, motivation and aspiration.
This course will help you to develop a clear plan to improve your wellbeing through community involvement. You will reflect on the effectiveness of your current community involvement, and develop an action plan to support your development and community participation.
The course will be classroom based but most of the day will be spent in the grounds of Wentworth Castle Gardens.
How will the course be delivered?
The course will be delivered on campus by a tutor, over one day.
Northern College starts where you are, building on your life skills and experience. You don’t need a formal qualification to begin your studies with us.
As this course will be delivvered outdoors, students must bring their own suitable footwear and clothing which is appropriate for the time of year.
What could this course lead to?
To continue your journey, you may wish to study other community development courses. With further qualifications, you could progress into Community Development, Sports Development or work within a charity. To improve your employability skills, you may also wish to look at the English, maths and digital skills qualification

Tuition Fee: £50*
Please note the fee displayed is for the tuition fee only. If you are staying overnight at the college and you are not eligible for residential funding, there will be an additional charge to cover bed, breakfast and evening meal.
