Reading is an essential skill which can be used for pleasure, for self-improvement, or for the essentials of working life.
On this course you will:
• learn about the different types of text and data you may come across on a daily basis
• understand more about what you are reading and the true meaning of the text
• improve your confidence about what you are reading and what it really means
This course will improve your confidence to enjoy reading and better understand the benefits that reading has to offer in all aspects of your life.
How will the course be delivered?
The course will be delivered over two days between 9.30am – 4.00pm using a blend of online learning with a tutor and independent study.
Northern College starts where you are, building on your life skills and experience. You don’t need a formal qualification to begin your studies with us.
What could this course lead to?
This short course can lead to other Essential Skills short courses, and then an accredited Functional Skills English qualification at your level. Our Student Support Services team will work with you to design a personalised learning journey based on your needs and aspirations.
