Pre-Access Diploma in Health Professions
Do you aspire to work in a health related field such as Nursing, Midwifery, Operating Department Practitioner, Radiographer, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapy?

The course will introduce you to a wide range of subjects at level 2 including Health Studies, Safeguarding, Biology and Psychology. You will get the chance to develop your study skills throughout the course, learning how to research and write academic essays and reports.
Successfully completing this course will give you the necessary skills and qualifications to progress on to a Level 3 Access to Higher Education (HE) course, which is the next step on the path to university!
Who is this course suitable for?
This course is aimed at adults who wish to return to education and progress on to a Level 3 Access to HE qualification. This course is the first step towards progressing onto university to undertake a health-related higher education course such as Adult Nursing, Midwifery or Occupational Therapy.
How will the course be delivered?
The course is delivered over 5 sessions Monday to Wednesday.
Residential and non-residential places are available, and childcare may be available on-site.
How is the course assessed?
You will study a number of units including: Health Psychology, Understanding Mental Health, Biology, Health Studies and the Sociology of Health; as well as additional units that will help you to develop your wider study skills. You will be assessed by a variety of methods which may include written assignments, research reports and presentations.
What could this course lead to?
Students who successfully complete the course will have the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding to apply for a Level 3 Access to HE course and ultimately continue with their studies into Higher Education.
You will also get the opportunity to study Maths and English at Level 2 alongside your Diploma.
