This course is aimed at those who want to know more about teaching or supporting learning in colleges or adult and community learning. It will provide a taster of such work, enabling you to discover and decide on the pathway that is right for you.
The aim of this course is to provide an understanding of teaching and supporting learning, and the connection between education and social purpose. It can be a first step to working in this sector as a member of the education staff in teaching and support roles.
On this one day course you will be introduced to:
the question ‘What is Learning?’
teaching and Learning and the different roles and responsibilities?
the purpose and social purpose of Education.
The post age 16 and adult learning sector is vast covering education after leaving a school environment and it includes Further Education Colleges, Community Learning, private sector training and prison education.
Please note - this does not include sixth forms in Schools or Higher Education (Universities).
No formal qualifications are required.
