Are you already teaching in a post 16 learning environment without a formal qualification?
This ‘in service’ fast-track qualification is designed to prepare you to teach in a wide range of contexts with accredited experience.
This first-stage teaching qualification and requires observation and assessment of your practice. This means you will need to access 30 hours of teaching over the duration of the course.
The course will cover the roles and responsibilities of a teacher/trainer in relation to legislation, equality, diversity, inclusivity and meeting the needs of the learners.
How will the course be delivered?
The course will be delivered on a residential basis, on campus over 8 weekends. The course will include a blend of classroom based activities and some individual work alone.
You must be qualified or experienced in the subject you intend to teach. You must have access to 30 hours of teaching practice and possess reasonable levels of language, literacy and numeracy.
What could this course lead to?
This course could lead to a successful career in delivering education and training in any post 16 learning environment, or you may wish to consider progressing onto a Level 5 teaching qualification.

Most students cover the cost of this course by applying for an Advanced Learner Loan or you may wish to arrange a payment plan and pay be instalments plan, directly with the college .
