Substance misuse is a big problem in society today, but can you identify different substances or the signs of drug use?
This course will explore substances, how and why people use them, as well as looking at sources of help and support available.
How will the course be delivered?
The course will be delivered on a residential basis, over two days and one night.The course will include a blend of class room based activities and some individual work alone.

You don’t need a formal qualification to begin your studies with us.However, if this is your first course at Northern College, you will be contacted by our Student Services team to ensure the course is right for you.
I have gained more confidence at speaking in front of different people about drug and alcohol misuse, which I`m passionate about anyway.
What could this course lead to?
This course will help anyone who is looking to progress on to other Social Science or Healthcare courses.You can continue to study to achieve Level 1 and Level 2 Award in Social Science and progress on to higher level study such as the Access to Higher Education Humanities and Social Science, or Policing.
